Ford officially presented photo of next-generation Ka citycar. We’re still passing on minutiae but we determine it won’t take long before Ford lets outs formal information on the KA’s long-awaited successor that’s scheduled to make its world debut at the Paris Show in early October. Our first take is that Ford’s designers did a pretty convincing job in hiding the new Ka’s Fiat 500 underpinnings as the minicar looks remarkably distinct and different.
Producing in Tychy, Poland, the next generation Ford Ka shares its platform with Fiat 500, but not only that. The engines, a 1.25-litre petrol powerplant and a 1.3-litre Multijet, diesel, already presented in the Italian car, will also be untaken for Ka, probably with different calibrations. More haunting motors will be used in the upcoming, to challenge other “purloin rockets” like Renault Twingo RS and Fiat 500 Abarth, but Ford will clearly try to put the Ka apart with a unique suspension tuning.
