World Performance Car of the Year – Audi R8

Audi is beginning to fairly dominate the World Car of the Year Awards. The Ingolstadt automaker has just won itself two major awards at the international competition; World Performance Car and Car Design of the Year. It is now two years in a row that Audi has bagged these two awards; last year it was the RS 4 and TT respectively that got the final nod. Just to cement its place the R8 was pitted against sibling A5 as well as the Mazda2, winner of the overall WCOTY Award for 2008.

The R8 has left each person lucky enough to get their grubby paws on it in sheer awe of its talents as a performer that not only delivers oozes of raw, edgy tyre-shredding Newtons on the road, but also as a well-balanced everyday car that almost goes anywhere where roads are paved. We know that a car from the same extended family (no names need mentioning) has owned this label since before forever, yet now R8 is going with it freely…

Honda Accord Tourer: International ‘Red Dot’ Award

One of the most prestigious and sought after awards in the world was won by the new Honda Accord Tourer (for Europe). The 51st International Red Dot Award for the design of high quality hour belongs to the abrupt Accord Tourer. This is actually the third time Honda has received special mention on this award, the first is for the 2000 and 2001 Honda Civic and 2006.

Numerati over 3000 entries for this time from places far away – no one off the planet – numbering 51 countries to be exact.

Prof. Dr. Peter Zec, Initiator of the red dot design awards, said: “Faced with a greater number of high quality products, our international jury of experts recognized this year found the task of selecting the winner to be particularly challenging. This distinction explicitly acknowledges your creativity and innovative drive, and pays tribute to the high standard of product quality. ”

The future of these awards will be even more demanding as automotive design moves to the next phase of consolidation is the key in which at the same time, in consideration for the safety, environment, performance is more in the limelight.





Bentley S3 E Design Concept

Bentley S3 E – unique car design.
So were we, in 1964, the open road in a quiet Sunday afternoon. Nat King Cole singing “I Want to Hurt Anymore”, the graphic equalizer on two LCD monitors show the bass guitar to be a little too high on the notes. It is difficult to say anything much, thanks to the little rumble under the hood a 4.4-liter V8 borrowed from German automobile manufacturer BMW. Cool Climate holds dual heads sane, while the leather and suede interior is designed for comfort and speed. Huh?

Lovely dream is to, but technically possible, thanks to the Bentley Boys USA, and especially Arturo Alonso, is an engineering and automotive visionary. These guys are working very exclusive machines in the form of a 2009 Bentley S3-based approach. Although it is the original body and chassis parts, some modern additions have taken place. This means that the use of 4.4-litre V8 BMW with almost 300 hp runs inside it, a 5-speed ZF automatic transmission BMW, made of stainless steel with two rear exhaust silencer and double-tips. The forged wheels you measure a decent 20 X 9.5-inch and 275/40/20 tires Continental Sports wrapped around them.
