New Rolls Royce Ghost Officially Revealed (details and photos)

The new luxury 2010 Rolls Royce Ghost has officially unveiled. The new Ghost a smaller, more affordable limo than the major brother Phantom. The car was previewed at the at the Geneva Motor Show in the form of the 200EX concept and make its entrance at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.

The Ghost blends classic Rolls Royce design style with modern features. The front end is dominated by a large leaning framework, which is destined to resemble a jet intake, and slim Xenon headlights. The 2010 RR Ghost powered by a new 6.6-liter turbocharged V12 engine with 563 bhp (420 kW / 570 PS) and 780 Nm (575 lb ft) of torque. The luxury sedan rides on an advanced air suspension that skin multi-link aluminum front and rear axles, Active Roll Stabilization, and Variable Damping Control.

As one would require, the interior is swish and decidedly elegant. When a driver enters the lodge, masses greeted them of leather, chrome detailing, “violin key” switches, frosted instrument dials, and masses of copse pare. Farther conveniences enter four-zone repeated air conditioning (with condensation prevention and solar compensation) and individual recline spaces with knead, heating, and cooling.

The band also offers a “theatre configuration” that includes two 9.2-inch LCD screens (mounted behind the front seats) and a glovebox-mounted six-disc multi-media changer.

In terms of technology, the new Ghost is packed with all the latest developments. A comfort noted (aka passive attempt) scheme unlocks the doors as you loom, a series of cameras that help you park, and a night vision system (with pedestrian recognition) helps you see in the darkness. Other techno goodies involve a precede-up flaunt, a street departure advise system (that vibrates the steering swing if you abandon a lane without signaling), high beam assistance (automatically adjusts headlight settings for best lighting), and active cruise command with halt & go technology.

Set to unveil at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Ghost will go on sale in Europe towards the end of the year with prices in the UK starting from £165,000 ($272,000 US or €191,000). In the USA and Asia Pacific markets, the Ghost will begin to arrive at showrooms from the second quarter of 2010.
