New 2009 Mini Cooper Cabrio unveiled (details and photo)

The next-gen MINI Convertible has been unveiled before of its debut at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show. Nevertheless, the Convertible’s external has been efficient with new niceties like the headlamps, tail lamps and front/rear bumpers while the four-rotate hinges for the luggage compartment top are now mounted inside the car.

The new MINI Convertible’s drop-top that comes with an integrated sliding roof behave can open or close automatically in 15 seconds dull, even when the car is in show up to 20 mph or 40km/h. In what could be one of the most useless gadgets of the year, MINI has equipped the four-seater with an “Openometer” gauge next to the tachometer that account how many hours have been depleted with the top-down.

New 2010 MINI Crossover Concept

MINI has show the first photo of the new Crossover Concept, which will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show next month. BMW’s approach from concept to production in recent years has been to make minimal changes, the exterior design we see before us will stay pretty much the same but for a more conventional door set-up when the production model is launched in 2010.

These initial metaphors give us a cloudless indication of how future MINIs will be styled, and if BMW‘s reputation for making only a few revisions from model to production secure proper, this is very close to the perfect product.

New 2009 MINI Cabrio (spy photos)

The Mini Cabrio (convertible) has been a long time to come, we have seen what looked like the production of prototypes ready, outdoors in July last year and slightly camoflaged some models published in 2006. One can not help but to think that BMW delayed the release of the convertible variant of the mini-series, possibly due to strong sales of the first generation.

News from the Dutch magazine Autotelegraaf now production for the current generation will start in July this year. BMW leave a good gap to build the expectation (and reservations) for the new generation with the first models to come off the coast of the production in March 2009.
